Virtual Occupational Therapy Application (VOTA) Presented at American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Annual Conference and Expo
Rick Adams and Eileen Krepkovich, of Barron Associates, presented and demonstrated the Virtual Occupational Therapy Application (VOTA) research at the 2015 AOTA Annual Conference and Expo in Nashville, TN from April 16-18 2015. The VOTA booth included a hands-on demo of the virtual meal preparation activity and a video covering the array of virtual activities of daily living included in the full application. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with an almost continuous stream of therapists, administrators, and rehabilitation industry participants “playing” the Kinect-enabled demo. A special AOTA Tech Day presentation on the technology for virtual world based games for upper extremity stroke rehabilitation delved into greater detail on the design of the system and the results of human participant testing. The total conference attendance was 7,900.
